We at Viscando are welcoming Amir Hossein Kalantari, a PhD student in Applied Behavior Modelling at University of Leeds, who has started a visiting research (secondment) assignment at Viscando as a part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) project SHAPE-IT.
Understanding and predicting human reactions is paramount for autonomous vehicles to become safer and more naturally behaving in a mixed traffic. Amir Hossein will apply game-theoretical behavior modelling framework to naturalistic data on interactions between pedestrians and car drivers. The data is being collected in the City of Leeds, in collaboration with University of Leeds and Leeds City Council.
